Eerguna Shamineau East Cultural Communication Center is located in the northeast tip of China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, next to Russia and (Outer) Mongolia — the heart of Genghis Khan territory. It is seven kilometers east of HeiShanTou town in Eerguna County, HulunBeier Prefecture.
The camp is situated next to the beautiful Gen River nature preserve, where the Mongolian Steppes (fourth Largest grassland in the world) meet the Xing An mountains. With more than thirty ethnic minorities in the area around the camp, opportunities abound to experience new cultures — live in a yurt, taste “shoubaorou”, ride camels, watch or participate in a “Nadamu”, or even milk reindeer.
Shamineau East is affiliated with Shamineau International, an American non-profit organization. Shamineau International conducts youth camps in Poland, Austria, Brazil, and the United States, as well as in China, and staff is regularly exchanged between them. Students who attend one of the camps affiliated with Shamineau International can also earn the opportunity to attend a camp in another country.
Shamineau East offers a variety of life-changing opportunities to its students and teachers including opportunities to experience new cultures first-hand; English, Chinese, Mongolian, and Russian language camps; environmental education; and recreational programs centered on music, drama, sports and outdoor activities.
